I know, I know......

I haven't tried blogging anything for the best 2 to 3 weeks. Brotha was busy trying to focus on some things. Here's a few things, I've been up to.....

1) WUMBC at College Park, MD. had me on their radio show for a segment called Third Rail. Shoutouts to Christian Baer for having me on. Alongside, Mental Stamina or Rosetta Stoned and The Five One Band. here's the link to my performance. One part my mic goes out but don't worry, all part of the show. LOL. You'll know when I'm coming in.

2) Got some love from Judah's blog. shoutouts to him.

3) I figured instead of just making it about me. I'll make more of an effort to just post cool shit up here. I don't always have something to show. I'm always creating but I don't always have it ready to show.

4) I signed up on the Beat Society website with some instrumentals.

5) I finally got the retail version of "When Nothing Goes Right" pressed up. If you want a copy, get at me on ardamus1979@gmail.com. Or you can wait til its out on CD Baby.

Until next time.......

So, I've gotten featured on a few things.

At some point, I won't make this shit about me. Feeling a bit self-centered. But for now, Here's some love from some folks that hooked me up. Shoutouts to DJ Heat.

Lets start this off right.

I figured it out. Every New Year that comes around, I have to do one thing. I have to watch Indiana Jones and The Temple Of Doom for some reason. Or at least part of it. I think one New Year's Day I was into it and its stuck with me ever since. Not sure if its superstition or not. But its on my mind every year. Weird, right? 2008 wasn't bad. Album was dropped. Got some good reviews. Got to rock a show in L.A.

Anyways, didn't feel like blogging til I had some music to contribute. I finally decided I'd work on a mixtape. I'm usually against the whole thing but its free'd my style up some more. Thinking about naming after this blog. We'll see. But for now here's a snippet over Obie Trice's "Cry Now". Enjoy!

Saying Goodbye To Some Of My Records

Before the blog starts, those aren't my records by the way. I wish I had that much shit. LOL.

I didn't know what I would post about at first. Being that, today on my day off, I just stayed in the house making a beat, recording a little, and watching more episodes of Psych (surprised that Shawn Spencer hasn't gotten exposed yet; but then again, I'm in the middle of season 2).

At one point, I got off my ass and decided to clean up some more. Not too long ago, I experienced a flood in my downstairs condo. Luckily, it was just water and none of neighbors were affected. But when I went through my records, I was not the same. The Records can still be played but some of that artwork, I know I will never get back.
Sucks to have that happen to you; all my vinyl collectors and DJs know what I mean. But anyway, it made me think about this song I did a while ago with a good friend of mine, Young Raven, who is an excellent producer and a down to earth cat. I forgot if I ever really released this track on CD or not. But I know I had it on my Snocap account which made me jack shit in terms of money. Hahaha. Which reminds me, I need to delete that thing. But anyways, here is the track entitled "Record Buying". I'd say this from around 2002 or 2003.

Dying And Karma

Now I'm posting this because I had the strangest thing happen to me on the train. This random lady starts calling for my attention while I'm listening to some B.G. (it was a promo I wanted to check out). And out of nowhere, she says "Can you please help me? I would like to die." I just gave her that Larry David look and walk down a bit further. I made a promise to stop talking to crazy people on the streets in 2005 and I'm sticking to it. It was fun back in the day but its lost its fun over the years; besides its depressing. I see her approach another guy to say the same thing and he actually helps her when he talks to her (maybe even gets to hit it; who knows). He asked me for a pen to write with and gets on the train with her to talk. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to feel bad about that shit but, after a while of living in the city and having crazy people making requests on the regular, you're just kinda like "fuck that". Hopefully, that woman's ok. I just don't see what the fuck I could do to help her. Strangle her to death? Bust a cap in her ass? SMH.......

I'm in no hurry to die. At the same time, I accept that shit. I figure I'll just enjoy however I can. Even when I'm old, I'll hope to kick it with a cigar in mouth like Hannibal with some dumb, young, and gorgeous broad only trying to stick me for my paper getting pissed off that she has to refill my viagra prescription. Hahaha. Seriously, I'll die when its time.

Well, anyway, I figured it would be a good time to introduce a track I did a while ago with my homie, Yusef. Its on the myspace but I didn't make it downloadable. Its called "How Do You Wanna Die?".

Welcome to my blog. I will more than likely upload a bunch of self-centered and self-promotional crap on here for people who like my music. From time to time, I'll blast my opinion on here about some bullshit. But other than that, you'll get some tracks on here that I've done. Nothing real far-fetched or out there. But anyways, thanx for checking out the blog.

Here's my myspace: http://www.myspace.com/sumadra

Ardaplus page (Ardamus & Double Plus): http://www.myspace.com/ardaplus

Next post: my album "When Nothing Goes Right".
